Meet Kathleen
Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Science in K–12 Vocal Music Education and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance. With more than 32 years of teaching experience, she has inspired students from kindergarten through college, while also directing church choirs and fostering a lifelong appreciation for music and faith.
An accomplished performer, educator, and ensemble director, Kathleen's experience spans musical theater, vocal jazz, popular, folk, country, classical, opera, and sacred music. She has performed professionally with VocalEssence Ensemble Singers, the Medora Musical, Fort Totten Little Theater Company, Mixed Company, and other vocal ensembles, while remaining active in community performances and church music ministries.
As an expressive and dedicated pianist throughout her career, Kathleen has found joy in accompanying, directing, learning, and performing music in many settings. She is passionate about sharing her love of music and helping the next generation build confidence, skill, and a lifelong appreciation for making music.
Meet Jackie
Jackie Hanson is a pianist, board-certified music therapist, and music educator with over 15 years of experience helping people discover the joy of making music. She holds a Master of Music in Music Therapy from Colorado State University and has worked with students of all ages and abilities in schools, private lessons, healthcare settings, and community music programs.
Jackie believes piano lessons should be about more than learning the right notes—they should be an empowering learning experience that builds confidence, creativity, perseverance, and a genuine love of music. She strives to meet each student where they are, tailoring lessons to individual learning styles while encouraging curiosity, expression, and steady growth.
In addition to teaching piano, Jackie has spent her career as a performer, music therapist, educator, and arts leader. These experiences have shaped her holistic approach to teaching, blending strong musical foundations with encouragement, patience, and a sense of fun!
